Greatest Love
Fulfillment has always been something that I was seeking and chasing after.
I was searching for all kinds of relationships, like friendships and a significant other. I was trying to get any relationships that I could, and it seemed that it did not matter who or what that was. I was looking for something to fulfill me and to satisfy me. This left me empty.
I used to be crazy about material things, like shoes and new tech objects. I spent more than three hours each day shopping online. I would get the things that I wanted, but several days later, I would go back to online shopping again. I became obsessive and could not stop shopping online. I was looking for something to fulfill me and to satisfy me. This left me empty.
In Asian culture, education is extremely important. If you earned a bad grade or a low achievement, people around you would look down on you. If you earned a good grade or a high achievement, you would receive praise. I pursued good grades for other people’s approval. I was looking for something to fulfill me and to satisfy me. This left me empty.
I was someone who was chasing after anything that looked like it would make me happy. I was searching for more than twenty years, and then I found Christ. I found Him because of His grace for me. God reached out to me and rescued me from being enslaved to relationships, objects, and titles. God revealed Himself and His love to me through His words, worship songs, sermons, and strangers who became my friends. I am so blessed by God that He came into my life and said that He is the one who can and will fulfill and satisfy me. I am blessed by God’s love.
Since I came to know God, I came to know truth. For many years, I believed lies and had been hurt. I did not know that I could have what I have today: a relationship both with God and with human beings. I come to know the meaning and purpose of life. Through God’s grace, I came to know that my worth does not depend on objects, relationships, or reputation. God is the best Father, the best friend, and the best of everything. He teaches me, disciplines me, protects me, and loves me.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:16-17
‘Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.” John 6:35-40
What do you think?
If this story has encouraged you to place your faith in Jesus as your Savior and your Lord, you can do so right now, or anytime you are ready, by sincerely expressing a simple prayer to Him. Prayer is simply talking with God. The exact words are not as important as the attitude of your heart. Here is a suggested prayer:“Lord Jesus, I need you. Thank you for dying on the cross to pay for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive you as my Savior and Lord. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Start making me the kind of person you want me to be.”
