Valued By God
I have always “believed” in Jesus and the words of the Bible, but my faith has not always been at the forefront of my life. I have always sought out approval from others, such as my parents, siblings, teachers, and friends. I always felt like I had to be the best at everything that I did, and this pursuit left me feeling empty because there was always someone who was better than me.
I allowed Christ to take control of my life when I realized that I was never going to be enough to surpass everyone else’s, and even my own expectations of myself. I realized that I was unhappy pursuing achievement as the measure of quality of my life. As a result, Christ has made me into a more loving and accepting person.
Accepting Christ does not magically make all problems go away, nor does it provide all of the answers to life’s questions; instead, Christ offers every person the opportunity to experience unconditional love, and as a result, eternal life in heaven. I still struggle with doubt and feelings of inadequacy, but Christ provides the knowledge that regardless of anything that happens to me on this earth, I am loved.
All that you have to do is accept Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of your life, and He will be waiting there for you with open arms.
What do you think?
If this story has encouraged you to place your faith in Jesus as your Savior and your Lord, you can do so right now, or anytime you are ready, by sincerely expressing a simple prayer to Him. Prayer is simply talking with God. The exact words are not as important as the attitude of your heart. Here is a suggested prayer:“Lord Jesus, I need you. Thank you for dying on the cross to pay for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive you as my Savior and Lord. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Start making me the kind of person you want me to be.”
